Visit to Cheitanyananda Ashram Oct 27 2007

On 27th Oct 07, few of our friends had visited Cheitanyananada ashram, on Magadi road, which houses few orphans, few single-parent children and also children from poor family background.

For those who couldn't join us this time, here is an update. We were 9 of us who joined in this time. I think this was a bigger no., compared to all our previous visits. What was even more interesting was that, gals were in good majority this time. We reached the ashram after a "good" search, by around 12:30pm. Thanks to the new NICE road, which has changed a lot of geography around the place. We were well received by Mr. Nanjundeshwar, the president of the ashram.

We spent some time with the students, taking intro, asking about their routine, asking some general knowledge Qs etc. Then, time for lunch at 1:45pm. Within no time, the hall was cleaned by the students themself & they were ready with their plates & glasses. We served them Bisi bele baath and they started to eat, only after their usual prayers before lunch. We then gifted them a mixie and few rugs for winter.

By 2:30pm, time for ourself to have bisi bele baath. It was really yummy!, along with Jelabi, chips, boondi, pickles and mosaranna which made the menu for the day. Then, we had a good interaction, trying to teach them solve a small Sudoku..... Even before Naga could teach them solve (getting confused himself!), a kid was out with the completed squares!! All of us got much involved into it, that we couldn't realise it was 4pm. We had also taken some pen-pencils, rulers and tooth brush to all.

Time to bid good bye to all, before which we distributed perks, munch, 5 star and kitkat among all !! The feeling of delightment was shining on their faces, when we closed the day before the rains could pour down. Looking fwd for more such wonderful visits........
